Sometime before, towards the end of May, I had written a newsletter titled, 'A Traveler's Mindset.' I concluded the same with these words:
"Life itself, in essence, is a journey. Nothing can help us better than to have a traveler's mindset."
Sometimes, the words we write down turn out to be prophetic in nature. While putting down those words, it didn't occur to me that I would be gearing up for a new journey after a month. Neither did I think I would be moving to a distant city that requires up to 32.15 hours of travel by train to join another job.
I will be joining the Quality Council of India as an Analyst from the third week of this month. In short, the words I wrote for the readers boomeranged on me. Now, it is me who needs a traveler's mindset.
When I joined The Drop Times at the end of March, it was the beginning of a steep learning curve for me. If Drupal comes with a steeper learning curve for developers, it poses a much steeper one for me, a journalist. Initially, what amused me the most was the spirit of community and freedom seen among Drupalers. Seeing a large group of brilliant humans coming together to grow and preserve open-source software was magnificent.
The DropTimes (TDT), too, is a wonderful organization. Its commitment to spreading the word about Drupal is praiseworthy. IMHO, Drupal deserves TheDropTimes as the world deserves Drupal. May you and I be lucky enough to find a friend who loves us like TDT loves Drupal!
The team and the leadership of TDT very well represent the values of the Drupal Community. TDT is Drupal, head to toe. I wish TheDropTimes and the entire Drupal community good luck. Wish me the same for my inevitable journey!
